I'm so sorry to hear that your experience with HP went from bad to worse, but if it's okay with you, I'd like to help out! I will also send you a private message to discuss your situation and see how I can help you - Welcome to the HP Forums Am I safe to assume that you have a Photosmart 5520 as well and that you've tried all of the steps within this Printer Prints a Blank Page or Does Not Print Black or Color Ink document? If my assumptions are correct, can you please let me know what country you live in? With that hopefully we can get this resolved for you! Perhaps it is a driver issue that is no longer compatible with recent windows software updates, as it seems this has reared it's ugly head as of late, and I have had some windows updates installed very recently. I am in the United States and my printer is still under warranty. I would like a private response as well to find out what HP is planning to do to fix this. I believe it is a software issue, and the HP doc indicates the same however, there is nothing updated on the HP website for an updated version of the software or drivers. however, it's obvious that if there was a problem with the actual cartridge or the printheads or anything realated to that, the black ink would not show up when printing a test page directly from the printer. I have spent 5 hours trying to fix this uninstalling and reinstalling software and drivers, along with going throught all the steps in the troubleshooing guide regarding the cartridges, etc. Hello Teri Lynn! I would like to report the same problem - my black ink will not print if I print a test page or anything else directly from my PC however, the black in will print when I print a test page directly from the printer itself. Business PCs, Workstations and Point of Sale Systems.Printer Wireless, Networking & Internet.DesignJet, Large Format Printers & Digital Press.Printing Errors or Lights & Stuck Print Jobs.Notebook Hardware and Upgrade Questions. Can you recommend a source for photsmart printers if that's the way I have to go? attachment-1-add-printer.JPG attachment-2-add-printer. It seems to me that only photosmarts use these cartridges. Perhaps the windows update program stuck the old driver into a hiding place? I can't find it.įinally, if II have to buy a new printer, I'd want to get one that uses the same ink supply because I have ink. I don't have a disk that came with the printer, nor any backup disks. Should I use a different one such as Photosmart 5520 or 6520? Do you have another way around this? But in the next screen (attachment 2) there are several photosmart drivers but not C6280. At first (see attachment 1) it appears that Windows recognizes the 6200 series. I tried downloading a driver from HP and, when that did not work, did all the steps in HPs lengthy "fix" suggestions. When I recently upgraded (via download) the OS to Windows 10 home, the printer did not "go along for the ride". The printer worked under Windows 7 for many years.

Gripe Some testers wished for a bigger draft collar. Eliminating excess bulk with a highly tapered design and offering exceptional warmth for its weight, this bag is built for fast and light, winter mountain missions. Anyone owned the neutrino plus Its a box wall baffled jacket, not sewn through the like the endurance model. The jacket’s really too warm for rainy days. By dialing in each chamber’s precise dimensions and down volume, they used less material, reducing weight while maintaining warmth. The Pertex Quantum Pro it used to be called Endurance has a water-resistant coating to shrug off the odd tent spill or glacial / icefall drip. Rab teamed up with researchers at England’s University of Leeds to determine the ideal ratio of baffle size to down content-a sort of body-mapping. It certainly took up lot less room than my old sleeping bag which was bulky and awkward to fit in a 38L bag. Made with 30D Triple Rip-Stop Pertex Endurance material for the exterior and interior, the Neutrino Endurance can resist even the harshest of conditions. Warmth-to-weight ratio The Endurance compresses to the size of a football, but has enough 800-fill goose down to keep testers warm in sub-freezing conditions: One mistook it for a 20☏ bag (it’s a 32☏) after he took it down to 25☏ in Washington’s Enchantments. Ideal for the alpinist on big mountain bivis and hut to hut stopovers. Eliminating excess bulk while offering warmth and protection, it’s built for fast moving mountain missions. Our Pacific Northwest testers were crazy about it. Stripped back and lightweight the Neutrino embodies the Alpine spirit. Its up to you to decide what matters more to you in your jacket, and that depends entirely on what youll be using it for. Why we like it It’s light, compressible, warm, and water-resistant (both the shell and the treated down). So to answer your question specifically, I would guess that the Mountain Equipment jacket will be warmer, while the RAB jacket will be lighter and more compressible.

Do neutrinos and antineutrinos oscillate in the same way? Or do they exhibit "CP violation", an asymmetry between matter and antimatter?.These discoveries and subsequent developments have opened a vast new program of research which seeks to answer questions regarding neutrino flavor and masses and their role in the universe. These developments shared the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physics " for the discovery of neutrino oscillations, which shows that neutrinos have mass. Around the same time, the SNO experiment definitively showed that electron neutrinos born in the core of the sun, transition to a mixture of all three flavors, explaining the fewer-than-expected number of electron neutrinos detected on Earth. Perhaps in the future. The observation of neutrino oscillations in 1998 by the Super-Kamiokande experiment, established that neutrinos have non-zero and non-degenerate masses. I long for an extensive set of tiny figures to create elaborate sets like the Miniature Calendar person does. But I’m out there having fun, and that’s what counts. Like I said, I have a lot to learn, and what I learned in my high school photography class (where automatic settings weren’t allowed) was long ago. Though I know that photography is a bit of both an art and a science, I tend to stick with the automatic settings and just play around. If they hold still long enough, it usually works out. It’s hard to get a perfect pose out of them (they are so uncooperative), so I often focus on just one part of their body. I often use my macro lens when taking photos of the cats. Or to really show the detail in a piece of art. You can get really close to the food or craft to see details, such as grains of salt or small stitches. Macro lenses can also be a great option for a food or craft photographer. Note how the stitches are in focus but the table, less than 1/4″ lower, is out of focus. You can see salt crystals or individual stitches. Great for isolating a detail or a bit of text on a page. The steeper the angle of whatever you’re photographing, the less of it will be in focus. I also have a great deal of fun capturing textures. Photos: Jenny Bristol Easily isolate text on a page. Still not always great for those “artsy” shots, but very helpful for hiding a cluttered room or other people’s faces from what you really want to capture. Focus on the subject, and everything in front of or behind the subject is out of focus. One of my particular challenges when taking photos is good composition. It’s easy to do different kinds of portraits, of your favorite people or your favorite toys. I’m especially a fan of the lens for portraits. They actually do a very good job taking a photo of just about anything. But macro lenses are good for more than close-up shots. I took close-up nature shots, texture shots, shots of my cats, and plenty of photos of random piles of stuff. I proceeded to take photos of everything I could. I finally received a macro lens for my birthday last year, a Nikon AF-S DX Micro-NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G with a minimum focus distance of a little over 6 inches. Close-up shots are great fun to take and to look at, to see small things large, to see all the minute detail. But from the very beginning, I knew I wanted one. I first heard about macro lenses–oh, I don’t know when. I still have much learning ahead of me, but it has helped me identify different kinds of photography that I enjoy taking and seeing. I have a hand-me-down Nikon D40x digital SLR which I love. What freedom! This lens makes it easy to capture a toddler’s personality. Delete the bad ones, and make room for more. (The early stuff was so low res I couldn’t stand it.) Now you can take as many photos as you want without additional cost. I was a high school student, and the expense of film and paper didn’t lend itself well to experimentation.Įnter digital photography. It was fun, but I had no idea what I was doing. Of course, this was around 1989 or 1990, so we used real film cameras, developed our own film, spent many hours in the darkroom, etc. I took photography in high school and thoroughly enjoyed it. So my efforts in the photography arena come in spurts. I always love it, but I don’t always have time for it. Photography is one of those hobbies of mine that comes and goes. Navy during World War II.īut, once the war ended, restrictions on growing and selling hemp, as well as the heavy taxes, were put right back into place. That’s when the USDA initiated the “Hemp for Victory” program – which encouraged farmers to grow hemp to make rope and canvas for the U.S. War EffortĪfter heavily taxing and essentially outlawing hemp, the US Government had to soften its stance in 1942. In 1938, Popular Mechanics published an article explaining that hemp could be used in 25,000 different industrial applications.īut, just as our country was beginning to understand the industrial potential of hemp, the Marihuana Tax Act of 1937 came along and essentially banned it nationwide. In 1916, the USDA published findings indicating that hemp could produce four times more paper per acre than trees. From Cash Crop to Contrabandįor the first few hundred years of our country’s history, hemp served as an important crop that provided the material needed to make things like rope, paper, clothing, and canvas. There are some who believe that George Washington writing about separating male and female plants could be evidence of his interest in the psychoactive properties of cannabis – since this is usually done to boost THC levels in cannabis plants. Speaking of possible uses … in a diary entry from August 1765, George Washington wrote, “… began to separate the male from the female hemp …” 1 He believed hemp could be a more profitable crop than tobacco due to its wide range of potential uses. George Washington grew hemp at his Mount Vernon estate. One of the most famous hemp farmers from that time was George Washington, Commander of the Continental Army, and our First President. It wasn’t until 1753 that the scientific term cannabis was used to describe the hemp plant in the US. 1ĭuring this time there was no differentiation between the terms hemp and cannabis. It played such a key role in what were then the British Colonies, that in 1619, Jamestown announced an order in 1619 requiring all farmers to grow hemp. Back in 1606, hemp was an important crop used to make canvas, paper, cloth, rope, and sails. When it comes to the topic of the military and cannabis, most are surprised to hear they have a somewhat complementary history that goes back to the 1600s. One story we like to share is about the history of cannabis and the U.S. Share stories of bravery and heroism of those who have lost their lives serving our country to ensure their legacies live on. So, take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of this day and remember the fallen heroes who gave their lives in defense of our freedom. While it can spawn enemies, it is also used to spawn things like Spawn is used primarily to spawn entities into the game. From here you have access to all of Isaac’s debugging commands. Then once you go in game, you’ll be able to open up the debugging console by pressing the tilde key most commonly located in the top left of your keyboard. You will first have to enable mods from the main menu. There are several different commands in the console that I will show you how to use, at least at a basic level.īefore we get into the commands, it’s first important to note how to open the console. Now if you’re not a mod developer, you’re probably thinking “Alright time to click off of this.” But wait! The console is still useful for the common Isaac player to test out a variety of different scenarios and synergies as well as to learn more about the game you love. The debugging console allows for mod developers to test certain scenarios as well as to test their mods to assure they’re working in the ways they want them to. For those that didn’t know that, you’re likely in for a treat. If you would like to watch the video to follow along, you can click this link.Īs many of you know, Afterbirth + added in a debugging console, or a command prompt for those that know it better by that name into the game. Seeing the examples played out live can be much more helpful for understanding how the console works. I usually offer to everybody to check out the videos that correspond with these posts but I honestly could not recommend it more here. Hey everybody and welcome to a Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ tutorial post! Most of the events that have a significant bearing on the events of the game happen off-screen and outside the entirety of the game’s plot. There are no prizes for guessing that the game is rare, and in more ways than one. (Needless to say, spoilers follow from here onwards) Anticlimax the Antihero Of being in a better position to answer that tantalising question: Perhaps, by making us aware of the futility of what we do, it helps us become more aware of what we want from life. In doing so, perhaps the game does more than it was ever expected to accomplish. That the result seems nothing more than an ordinary man’s attempt to escape the drudgery. That none of those fantastic things came to being. But it all comes crashing down at the end, only for you to seethe in rage, and when calmer, to be disappointed at how it all came to be. It intrigues you at the beginning, then takes you on a journey full of stunning sights and flights of fancy. We wouldn’t like them to remind us of how deeply flawed our worlds are, nor would we like to know even more about the issues that trouble us.īut maybe sometimes, a game comes along that does precisely those things. By definition, we wouldn’t like our games to hit too close to reality. We play video games as an act of escape from a widespread drudgery that surrounds us to no end. Life is a journey of nightmares and anticlimaxes, but thankfully interspersed with some moments of genuine happiness. Instead, life is mostly made up of a few joys, some more heartbreaks, and a whole lot of sniffles. Storybook happy endings in life happen rarely. In those differences lie who we are, and although we take separate paths and experience disparate consequences for our actions, life invariably finds a way to screw us over anyway. We try to understand what we want, and we behave differently in trying to get to the place we want to go to. But how we would like our lives to be and how our lives actually are, are never the same. In a world where everyone is in a conscious or subconscious flux about how they interpret happiness, we would all like to be happy in some way. |
